I feel that my work speaks for its self really but maybe you want to know a little bit more about me as an artist, a mom, a wife and what makes me tick.
There are 3 things that I want you to know right away:
I love God!
I love my husband! He is the bestest thing to ever happen to me.
I love my kids. The are what inspire me to really get in there and get great memory filled photos of your babies and children. I strive to provide portraits of your children that I would treasure as a parent
Ok now a little bit more about me:
When I was little I wanted to be an artist, a whale trainer & a mommy. Well 2 out of 3 aint bad!
I discovered photography right out of college (better than discovering other things) it was actually a class I couldn’t wait to take. I took it with a dear friend and we enrolled so many times that we ended up taking it for no credit… then they wouldn’t let us take it all. I started with black & white photography and that is where my heart has stayed really. Though processing is different now, doing black & white conversions isn’t quite the same as it was all those days ago, in the darkroom watching your image magically appear. Now it is just special in a different way. I pour more of myself into developing black & whites. There is so much emotion in black & white and everyone can relate in a different way. It is important to get it right 🙂
Around 2005 (maybe 2006) I took a color photography class. Still working with film and printing equitpment (almost dinosaur age… almost). This is where photography really clicked for me. I understood color and now I knew how to use color to add excitment & demension to my story telling style. Though I *love* B&W I work mainly in color now and have mainly color prints in my house as well. Color is FUN & color can be found anywhere… and we will go just about anywhere to get it… if you are up for my creative adventures.
When my second son was born in 2010 God made it very clear it was time to stay home and raise my boys. This is about the time I picked up my camera again and started using it in a different way. My previous love of black & white photography & my new love of bold color created a unique style. For the past few years my art has really grown. My past photography history really expedited my style development and creativity. I always worked in a story telling way, little did I know years later it would be a trending style. Though it is now the trend, a journalistic, story telling style is just who I am & always will be. I am not just a photographer jumping on the trend bandwagon.
Life is Sweet- Capture It, is not just my business slogan it’s a pledge really. I believe that 100%. Life is sweet there are so many moments to savor and enjoy. I will capture moments that are as sweet as pie and that you can savor and enjoy forever…
Check back often to see what things I have been up to in my personal life and business life. I am not done growing yet and I have a lot more to do. Come along and be apart of this journey!
God has been so good to my business and guided me through this whole growth process. I look for ways to give back whenver I can and I can’t wait to share some of ways I’ve been investing back into peoples lives.
1 Peter 4:10
“Each one use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully, administering God’s grace in its various forms.”
