I love this little 2 year old & I love carnivals. I had to marry the 2 loves together for this fun shoot. I am always in for another carnival shoot. Best part of this shoot is we had to come back again the next day and the best part was they let us walk around before it was open. Then I was able to go back kid free and take some fun photos 🙂walk around before it was open. Then I was able to go back kid free and take some fun photos 🙂
Greetings from my brand-spankin-new website & blog. What a chore but so happy it is now completed (kinda 🙂
Well this last season has been a season of growth. I had some goals come summer and now that summer is here it is time to make the changes I’ve been praying about & muddeling around in my head. To be honest things are looking a lot different around here and I don’t always like change. However it was time. It is time to treat this like a business. I had to make change to make it make more sense for both the client and myself.
I am excited about these changes.
There are a few things that came into play when restructuring my pricing. On average (on the low, low average) each session takes about 5 hrs start to finish. Most cases I put close to an hour in before your session even begins. I don’t mind, I enjoy scouting and finding the perfect place for you but when a cancelation happens I just worked for free that is never fun :). I will be asking for a retainer fee now & that will be credited towards your session. That is probably one of the biggest changes I have made.
I still offer digital images for purchase (they are my best seller) but I also shifted to emphasis of professional printing. I want my business to be a reflection of my values & I value professional printing. It is so important to invest in the printing of your images. Did you know the professional printing I offer is archival & mesum quality? You are worth it! Your memories are worth it! The thing that saddens me the most is having an awesome session, totally happy clients and then a disk that sits in their desk drawer. I get so excited to see their portraits on their walls & the images being enjoyed and treasured. You will too, I promise!!! I get it I’d want some digital images too as a take away & a keepsake but you can’t hang a disk on the wall :)… it just doesn’t have the same feel. That is why I have a variety of packages that include digital images & enlargements.
I know this is all a move in the right direction. Join my in my journey of growth. I am so thankful for all the love and support I’ve gotten during this “starting out” process and I am looking forward to the future. Thank you so much for being a part of it & I look forward to capturing your family in the coming months & years. You will never know how much your sessions have touched me. It is so incredible to be invited into someones life even for just a bit, to preserve it. I will never take that lightly.
I bet it is no surprise photographers also have fun shooting pictures as hobby as well :). This was a fun night with fellow photogs. We also trashed this dress too. Lets just say it involved paint… It was fun!
I had the pleasure of meeting Goldeen and Matt in September and book a wedding with them for mid march. I am so excited! It is fun getting into the wedding world :). Their first plan for engagement pictures didn’t work out so this location was our plan b BUT I fell in love with it. I’ve shot Old Sacramento several times… more times than I can count but all of these spots were new & AWESOME! It made the old-time-town-frozen-in-time much more “city- ish”. There are some really great characteristics of downtown that I love and I love all within walking distance you can get old vintage, classic looks and then turn on the city charm and romantic feeling :). It was Goldeen’s idea to use this walking tunnel. I had actually never been that far down the path & it was amazing color! These photos will tie in nicely with their wedding colors too 🙂 what a great coincidence. 🙂
This is one my favorite sessions. This sweet family prayed and waited for this little blessing. This is why I take photography SO seriously. It is so important to preserve these days, these moments, these feelings.
God blessed this family with a healthy baby who they jsut adore. I was happy to provide portraits that can remind them for years to come what God has done for them.
